There wasn't anything interesting on the New Books shelf today. However, the YA display rack had full runs of YA series, so I grabbed a couple of 'Book 1's.
Emily Diamand - Raiders' Ransom
In a flooded post-apocalyptic London, Lilly must outwit pirates who have kidnapped the Prime Minister's daughter. Spunky heroine, odd mash-up of technological periods, and a picture of Big Ben mostly submerged - hard to resist.
Ally Carter - Heist Society
It's a caper novel, set in a boarding school. Kat has to track down a set of stolen pictures to clear her father, who she doesn't think stole them. Spunky heroine, caper novel, boarding school - hard to resist.
Allison Goodman - Eon: Dragoneye Reborn
Eon is training to be a Dragoneye; accepted as an apprentice by one of the dragons. To that end, he is training in Dragon Magic, which is an amalgam of EastAsian magic and sword fighting. Only, Eon is actually Eona, a girl. Spunky heroine, kung fu, dragons - hard to resist.
